Chris Stapleton Will Hold First Event At Rangers' Globe Life Field

The MLB Rangers said that country music artist Chris Stapleton will be the "opening act" at the new $1.2B Globe Life Field on March 14. Willie Neslon, Jamey Johnson and Yola will also "perform at the concert." Rangers Exec VP/Business Operations Rob Matwick said, "It sort of reinforces what we’ve been talking about all along since we started this project, about how Globe Life Field will be more than just the home of the Texas Rangers. It will be a 365-day-a-year sports and entertainment venue." All five roof trusses at the ballpark "have been raised, and the first seats were installed" today. Matwick said that the "organic artificial surface will be in place for the concert, and it will be protected by the high-density plastic Terratrak" (Ft. Worth STAR-TELEGRAM, 10/23).
