Bob Iger Says Disney Will Pursue More Rights For ESPN+

Disney Chair & CEO Bob Iger today discussed ESPN+ and the upcoming Disney+, with CNBC’s Julia Boorstin asking, “Are you going to be looking to buy more rights for (ESPN+), for instance the NFL ‘Sunday Ticket’ rights” when they become available?” Iger: “I won't answer specifically to the question about the NFL package. ... But the answer is yes, we will be looking to buy more rights for ESPN+ as they become available. I imagine down the road -- ESPN the linear channel is still very valuable to us and distributors -- you could see a shift to some extent of some product from those services to ESPN+” (“The Exchange,” CNBC, 10/22).
