Nike Drops Antonio Brown From Shoe Deal Amid Allegations

Patriots WR Antonio Brown "no longer has a shoe deal with Nike." A spokesperson for the company confirmed the move, saying, "Brown is not a Nike athlete." Asked to "elaborate on the reason for the decision and clarify its timing, the spokesperson declined." However, "several signs suggest that recent allegations" of sexual assault against Brown "served as a catalyst for why the world's largest sneaker seller would want to disassociate itself" from him. Meanwhile, helmet company Xenith also ended its deal with Brown "shortly after" Britney Taylor filed a civil suit against Brown (BOSTON GLOBE, 9/19).
