UFC Opens New $13M Performance Institute In Shanghai

The UFC today continued its expansion into China with the opening of a sprawling new performance institute in Shanghai. The 93,000-square-foot, $13M facility in Shanghai is nearly triple the size of the promotion's original Performance Institute in Las Vegas. The building will serve as UFC's Asian HQ and will feature hospitality suites, dining, retail services and a fan experience area. One of the main purposes of the new institute is to increase the number of Chinese athletes in the sport. The UFC's roster currently features 10 Chinese fighters, and the center in Shanghai will support 30-50 per year. See more in tonight's Global edition.
