Minnesota Moving Closer To General Seating Beer Sales At Venues

Univ. of Minnesota’s regents "signaled strong support for a proposal to allow beer and wine sales in general seating at the Williams and Mariucci arenas on the Twin Cities campus." Regents, who were earlier "slated to vote on the proposal Friday, held off on taking action until their June meeting." TCF Bank Stadium currently is "the only" UM sports venue where alcohol sales are "allowed outside of premium seating" (STARTRIBUNE.com, 5/10).

Meanwhile, the Univ. of Oklahoma Board of Regents on Friday "authorized the advertising and sale of alcoholic beverages at athletic events," including football for the '19 season (NEWSOK.com, 5/10).
