WNBA Star Tina Charles Set To Debut Film About Her Father

WNBA N.Y. Liberty C Tina Charles' new documentary "Charlie's Records" debuts Friday night at the Tribeca Film Festival. Charles for the past two years has spent "every second that she isn't on the basketball court making a film about her father, Rawlston Charles." The film shows how the elder Charles had a "vision to promote Calypso and Soca music to the world through his Charlie's Calypso City" in Brooklyn and his Charlie's Records music label. Charles "did not play overseas the past two WNBA offseasons" as she worked on the film (NEWSDAY, 5/2).
