Under Armour's Two Final Four Teams Bring Validation

Under Armour provides apparel for two Final Four teams in Auburn and Texas Tech, and UA Founder, Chair & CEO Kevin Plank said this marks a "huge moment for the brand." Plank: “We've been quietly building the sport of basketball authentically since we launched our first shoe going back to 2010 … and it just shows there's no silver bullet. It’s just a long, slow grind in this journey.” Plank said having two of the four teams “emphasizes the performance aspect that we take into our brand" and shows "that our products work.” He added this is a "great validator" (“Squawk on the Street,” CNBC, 4/5).

Warriors G Stephen Curry gave the Texas Tech and Auburn squads "new Under Armour Curry 6s" headed into the weekend. Texas Tech got the "Working on Excellence" colorway, while Auburn received the "Underrated Story" colorway. Curry told the Auburn players it "embodies what you guys have done to this point as a five seed" (SI.com, 4/4).
