Heavy Rain May Impact Saturday's NHL Stadium Series Game

There is "heavy rain" in the forecast for Philadelphia on Saturday, which could have an impact on the 8:00pm ET start to the Penguins-Flyers Stadium Series game at Lincoln Financial Field. Saturday’s forecast has been gloomy all week, and NHL Chief Content Officer Steve Mayer stressed Tuesday that the league "will get word out as soon as it can -- whether there is a delayed start or not." If the game needs to be postponed, pushing it to 6:00pm on Sunday "seems to be the NHL’s easiest option." A 6:00pm faceoff would "allow NBC to avoid competing fully with the Oscars," which will start at 8:00pm (PHILLY.com, 2/21).
