NFL Settles Kaepernick, Reid Collusion Grievances Confidentially

The NFL and lawyers for Colin Kaepernick and Panthers S Eric Reid on Friday jointly announced that they have "settled a complaint of collusion by the players, who claimed football team owners blackballed them because they had protested by kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem." Terms of the settlement were kept confidential (CNBC.com, 2/15). The agreement comes "shortly before the two sides were expected to make final appearances in front of an arbitrator." But "because of the confidentiality agreement, it's unclear whether the specifics of that deal will be made public" (PROFOOTBALLWEEKLY.com, 2/15). NFL team officials are "speculating" that the league "paid Kaepernick" in the $60-80M range (TWITTER.com, 2/15).
