ESPN's "OTL" Looks At Ongoing Issue Of NBA Teams Tanking

ESPN's "OTL" today took on the issue of NBA teams tanking, with the net's Ryan Smith saying it "seems very little can be done to stop teams" from the practice. Smith: "Some half-dozen teams seemingly are doing some form of tanking to improve their lottery odds.” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst: “We have four teams that potentially could keep their pick if they fall under a certain level ... and all of them have made trades recently that you could argue have weakened their teams.” Windhorst said of new league rules meant to correct the problem, “This was maybe a half measure, you could say. It wasn't designed to completely eradicate it. ... Over the coming years we will have to watch and decide whether it actually does anything” (“OTL,” ESPN, 2/12).
