NBCSN's "NASCAR America" Set For 1,000th Episode Milestone

NBCSN on Friday night will air the 1,000th episode of “NASCAR America” since it was launched five years ago, something that NBC execs are regarding as a milestone for the show. NBCSN will have a special show to celebrate at 6:00pm ET, with several drivers making appearances and highlight reels planned to show some of the best moments and bloopers from the show.

NBC Sports VP/NASCAR Production Jeff Behnke recounted that NBC Sports Exec Producer Sam Flood decided to start the show started in February ’14, about a year and a half before the net once again started airing races under its new media-rights deal. Behnke: “We had no idea that it would take off like it has, but we’re certainly proud of the 1,000th show, and it just shows that there’s such an appetite for NASCAR news, information, entertainment and fun.”
