Dave Lockton, CEO Of Sports Betting Start-Up WinView, Set To Retire
Dave Lockton has retired as CEO of WinView, the sports betting start-up company that features an all-star roster of sports business execs as investors. Company VP/Engineering & Operations Eric Vaughn will be the interim President & CEO. Vaughn previously had been COO of EA’s Capital Games Studio. Lockton will remain on the board and carry the title of Chief Innovation Officer.
A bevy of media industry titans have backed the company, seeing it as a way for sports TV networks to increase their revenue. Tom Rogers, the former head of TiVo, Primedia and NBC Cable, is WinView’s Exec Chair. Investors include Ted Leonsis and Discovery Communications. Lockton launched the WinView Games app in ’15 where users try to predict plays during NFL, NBA and MLB games. It is set up as a competitor to daily fantasy sites like DraftKings and FanDuel. A paid version of the app is available in 36 states.
