Indians Close To Selling Out Three-Game Series Against Royals

The Indians' weekend series at home against the division rival Royals is "nearly a sellout." Saturday night's game "is sold out," while tickets for Friday and Sunday's games are "down to standing room only." Saturday's sellout will be the Indians' "eighth of the season," with the last two sellouts at Progressive Field coming Aug. 4 and 5 against the Yankees (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 8/25).

Elsewhere in MLB this weekend, the Cardinals on Friday night are hosting their first official "Pride Night" for their game against the Rays. The ceremonial pitch will be thrown by Tassandra Crush. It is "believed to be the first time a transgender individual will throw a first pitch" at an MLB game (CBSLOCAL.com, 8/17).
