LPGA Tournament Moving To Merit Club In Suburban Chicago

The LPGA’s '16 UL International Crown has found a new home at the Merit Club in north suburban Chicago. The Merit Club hosted the '00 U.S. Women’s Open. The biennial team match-play event featuring eight international teams is set for July 21-24. It originally was to be played at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Club outside of Chicago, but the LPGA was forced to find a new venue a few weeks ago after the tour and the club mutually agreed to relocate the event. No reason was given for the decision to move the tournament.

"We think of the UL International Crown as an event that’s growing in global significance and making a major impact on women’s golf," said LPGA Commissioner Michael Whan. "The Merit Club helps us take that next step in many ways and we’re excited to partner together.”
