Judge Rules Against Former NFLers Seeking To Intervene In Case

A federal court judge ruled against seven former NFL players seeking to intervene in the preliminary concussion settlement against the league. “The moving parties may object to or opt out of the settlement under the procedures set forth in my July 7, 2014 order,” Judge Anita Brody ruled yesterday. The seven, led by Sean Morey, allege the preliminary settlement does not represent their interest and short sells former NFL players.

On the same day Brody ruled against them, their attorney earlier had filed a 16-page motion explaining why they should be allowed to intervene in the case. The seven have also appealed to the Third Court of Appeals Brody’s decision to preliminarily approve the settlement.
