Report: U2 Wants To Promote New Album In Super Bowl Spot
U2 is "readying a new album for tentative release in April" and is reportedly "shopping for brand partners to announce the new project via a Super Bowl commercial" during Fox' Feb. 2 telecast of the game. Music manager Guy Oseary is "driving the meetings on the brand-partnership," and sources said that he has been "reaching out to potential sponsors on the band's behalf" (BILLBOARD.com, 11/13).
Meanwhile, there are "Madison Avenue rumors" that Miley Cyrus "could show up in a Super Bowl ad." GoDaddy "might seem a candidate, but it's made clear that it's going away from its racy ads for this Super Bowl" (USA TODAY, 11/13).
