Ratner Touts Effect Of MSG Renovation On Fan Experience

MSG President & CEO Hank Ratner appeared on CNBC's "Squawk Box" this morning to discuss the renovation project at the arena. Ratner said the upgrade "means everything for the fan experience because it's actually our fans that told us how to transform this building." Ratner: "Three years ago we set out on a project to build a brand-new Madison Square Garden inside the iconic exterior of Madison Square Garden and we're proud to say on Friday we'll be unveiling it for our first public event, the Knicks play the Bobcats."

Ratner said of competing with TV to get fans out to the arena: "What we've seen is with the growth of media in all different forms and portability it's just given even more reason to come to the live experience" ("Squawk Box," CNBC, 10/23).
