Tomlinson Is Subject Of "A Football Life" Season Premiere

The third season of NFL Network's "A Football Life" debuts tonight at 9:00pm ET with a profile of former RB LaDainian Tomlinson. The series is expanding to 22 episodes this year, and subjects will include Don Shula, Derrick Thomas, Pat Summerall and Randall Cunningham. Each episode will be followed by "A Football Life: Backstory" (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 8/30).

NFL Films Senior Producer James Weiner "uses Tomlinson's ongoing exploration of his family's past to weave together Tomlinson's journey to NFL stardom and his triumphs and tragedies along the way, allowing the story to tell itself with transitions you don't even notice." Tomlinson said of his past, "I ran from it for a long time. I didn't want to look back" (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 9/3).
