The Boston Athletic Association today said that the 5,633 people who were stopped in the second half of the Boston Marathon course during the April 15 bombings "will be allowed to register early for next year's race." Registration is expected to open in September (AP, 5/16).

Sources said that the Cowboys are "looking to move" from their Valley Ranch practice facility. The sources added that Frisco, Texas, is "one of the cities ready to welcome the Cowboys with open arms" (DALLASNEWS.com, 5/15).

Oklahoma City-based sports equipment franchiser Golf USA has "filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on the eve of a court hearing to place the company into receivership" (OKLAHOMAN, 5/16).

A new reality show about Packers fans titled "Cheeseheads" has been given the "green light" by TBS. No timetable has been determined for the show's debut (GREENBAYPRESSGAZETTE.com, 5/15).

Staples Center and Verizon have teamed up to offer free Wi-Fi service to guests. Free access to the network begins May 21 (AEG).

USA Network will team with the NFL for the net's "Characters Unite" anti-discrimination initiative. The partnership includes a "series of vignettes that will air beginning in November and will culminate with the third annual NFL Characters Unite hour-long documentary debuting in February 2014" (MULTICHANNEL.com, 5/16).
