NBA Does Not Vote On Kings; Stern Says No Talks On Expansion
As expected, the NBA today did not vote on the proposed sale of the Kings. Commissioner David Stern said that the league’s combined finance and relocation committee is still studying both bids and is expected to have a decision by the end of next week. The full BOG will then have seven business days to vote on the sale. Stern: “There is an attempt to get every possible answer, and then they will vote. What make this particularly difficult is that the Seattle group is well-funded and the Sacramento group has a very strong base of economic support as well." Stern also said there was no discussion of expansion. NBA Deputy Commissioner & COO Adam Silver added, "We can't shortcut the process."
