More Boston Tributes Pour In From Adidas, NASCAR Teams

Boston Marathon sponsor adidas today launched a limited edition "Boston Stands as One" T-shirt, with 100% of the proceeds going to The One Fund Boston. adidas, "also an official sponsor of marathon organizer Boston Athletic Association," will sell the shirt for $26.20 online at BAA.org and at adidas.com/bostontribute (BOSTON.com, 4/18).

Michael Waltrip Racing will honor the victims of the marathon bombings by running special door numbers on its three NASCAR Sprint Cup entries Sunday in the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway. Team owner Michael Waltrip finished the marathon in '00 (MWR). Sporting News' Bob Pockrass on his Twitter feed reported Roush Fenway Racing entries "will have the B-Strong stickers on their cars" this weekend (TWITTER.com, 4/18).

Meanwhile, the MLB Rangers today announced several relief initiatives to assist victims of last night's fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas. During this weekend's home series against the Mariners, fans at Rangers Ballpark can donate essential items. Items will be collected outside the ballpark gates from two hours before the game to 30 minutes after the first pitch (Rangers).
