ESPN’s telecast of The Masters’ first round Thursday averaged a 2.4 fast-national rating and 2,851,000 viewers. That represents increases of 3% and 7%, respectively, from last year’s first round (ESPN).

The Dolphins announced that they would deliver a $4.8M check to Miami-Dade County on Friday as reimbursement for the cost of the May 14 election, in which voters will decide whether to help fund Sun Life Stadium renovations (Dolphins).

Despite the controversy around Saturday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series NRA 500, Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said that he "expects a similar crowd to last spring when the crowd of 159,200 was the largest for a NASCAR race last season" (AP, 4/11).

Nike on Saturday will release Thunder F Kevin Durant's latest signature shoe, the Nike Zoom KDV N7, and "this version will pay homage to the Native American community." The shoe will be "turquoise and black with traces of yellow" (OKLAHOMAN, 4/11).
