WBC Goes Digital To Make Title Game More Widely Available

Tonight's Puerto Rico-Dominican Republic World Baseball Classic championship game at AT&T Park is being made more widely available via Internet and mobile platforms. The contest airs in the U.S. at 8:00pm ET on MLB Network and ESPN Deportes, and in countries where it is not televised, it will be available via YouTube.com/LoveBaseball. Also, authenticated Bright House Networks, DirecTV and Time Warner Cable subs who get MLB Net can stream games at WorldBaseballClassic.com or via the WBC iPad/iPhone app (THE DAILY).

ESPN’s Karl Ravech said fans are "going to see some intensity” during tonight's game, as Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic are “two countries that have so much pride and enthusiasm.” ESPN’s Curt Schilling said, “This is the way it should be, two countries where winning this thing is a much bigger deal than in some other places.” Schilling noted there is a "power shift in Major League Baseball,” where the "American game is being taken over by Dominican players, Puerto Rican players who are just a phenomenally talented group of players” (“Yankees-Phillies,” ESPN, 3/19).

Meanwhile, the WBC is one of the topics up for discussion when Giants President & CEO Larry Baer appears on MLB.com's Chatting Cage webcast at 5:30pm ET. Fans can ask Baer questions via webcam or using Twitter (THE DAILY).
