Illinois Sports Facilities Authority Elects Kelly Kraft As New CEO
The Illinois Sports Facilities Authority, which operates U.S. Cellular Field, today elected former TV reporter and gubernatorial aide Kelly Kraft as its new CEO by a 4-3 vote. This comes after BOD member Manny Sanchez, who had favored opposing candidate Diana Ferguson, was "told he was being replaced because his term was up" (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 11/1). Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel had supported Ferguson, while Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn backed Kraft, so this brings the two politicians' "bitter feud" to an end (SUNTIMES.com, 11/1).
