Louisville Arena Authority Approves Request For Millions From City

The Louisville Arena Authority today "placed the city on notice that it may need more of Metro Government's annual contribution to the KFC Yum! Center." The authority approved a request for up to $3.3M "by next spring 'as needed' for the building's debt payments," in addition to the $6.5M it currently pays. The move comes in part because the authority "hasn't determined how much money will be available for payments due in December 2013" (COURIER-JOURNAL.com, 9/10).

This comes as arena officials are considering a multimillion-dollar sale of a package of securities.
