K-Swiss Reports Q2 Loss As Future Orders Continue Decline

K-Swiss today reported a Q2 net loss of $11.63M, or $0.33 per diluted share, compared with a net loss of $20.03M, or $0.56 per diluted share, for the year-ago period. Net loss for the six months ended June 30 was $18.34M, or $0.52 per diluted share, compared with a net loss of $29.87M, or $0.84 per diluted share, for the six months ended June 30, 2011. K-Swiss Chair Steven Nichols in a release said, "The past several years, domestic K-Swiss has suffered from declining future orders and sales" (K-Swiss).

The results add to a current trend of declining financials for sports footwear/apparel companies, with adidas standing as a notable exception.
