Fox Sports Establishing Its Own Documentary Film Series

Fox Sports is establishing its own version of "30 for 30," deciding to market its non-fiction programming under the "Being" brand. The difference, according to a statement by co-President & co-COO Eric Shanks, is that Fox' "Being" stories will "look forward, not back." The first of Fox' "Being" franchise will be "Being: Liverpool," debuting Sept. 16, either just before or just after Fox' single-header NFL game. "The launch on the Fox network is a huge deal for Fox Soccer," said Fox Soccer GM David Nathanson. "It's going to have a huge lead-in audience." The show, co-produced by Fox Soccer and the EPL club, was originally titled "Our Liverpool: Never Walk Alone."

Following its debut on Fox, the series will go to its regular Sunday night timeslot on Fox Soccer (9:00pm ET/PT). The debut show will be repeated on other Fox networks, including Mundo Fox, NatGeo, FSN and Fuel TV. Fox Soccer has distributed the series globally. Nathanson said the premiere episode has been distributed to more than 350 million homes.
