IMG-Wagner Contempt Hearing Not Expected Until Later This Summer

No developments emerged in the IMG vs. Jon Wagner case in Cuyahoga County common pleas court today. The two sides did meet today and are scheduled to meet again tomorrow, but an upcoming contempt-of-court hearing is not expected until later this summer. The court issued a temporary restraining order in May that prohibits Wagner, a former IMG exec who left the company, from hiring other IMG employees or working with IMG golfers. IMG alleges that Wagner has broken the restraining order, which is leading to the contempt-of-court hearing. Former IMG agents Jeff Stacy and Kevin Lynch are co-defendants with Wagner.

It has been reported that Wagner is working with Stacy and Lynch as part of a new company, Cleveland-based Milestone Sports Management, and has continued his representation of former Masters champion Trevor Immelman. IMG also confirmed that another of its agents, Jon Heaton, left the company last week. IMG similarly filed for a restraining order against Heaton on Friday to prohibit him from going to work at Excel Sports Management with Mark Steinberg.
