Sources Say NHL, NHLPA Will Resume CBA Talks Thursday In N.Y.

The NHL and NHLPA will resume negotiations for a new CBA on Thursday and Friday in N.Y., sources said. This will be the second formal bargaining session for negotiators for the NHL owners and players. The NHL CBA expires on Sept. 15. Eight players on the NHLPA's 31-player negotiation committee, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and four NHL owners attended the first session, which was held on June 29. The NHL made a presentation at that first session. NHLPA Exec Dir Donald Fehr said that the players would review the NHL's initial presentation before the second session.
