LOCOG To Put 900,000 More Olympic Tickets On Sale This Week

LOCOG today announced that it will put 900,000 London Games tickets on sale Friday, "with priority given to those people who were unsuccessful in previous rounds." The available tickets include about 5,000 for the men's 100-meter final (AP, 5/8). The 31-hour exclusive access window for the "20,000 people left empty-handed after two rounds" of sales will begin at 11:00am London time. After that, another 1 million who missed out on the first ballot "will have five days to buy tickets on a first-come, first-served basis" (THETIMES.co.uk, 5/8).

Ticketmaster U.K. Managing Dir Chris Edmonds warned that the online process "could take 20 minutes of 'queuing' and that many fans would be unsuccessful in buying tickets for the event they wanted" (INDEPENDENT.co.uk, 5/8).
