Nets To Honor History In New Jersey During Tonight's Game

The Nets tonight will host their final home game in New Jersey after a 35-year run in the state, and "several former players will be honored during a halftime ceremony" of the game against the 76ers. Honorees will include Kenny Anderson, Otis Birdsong, Darwin Cook, Derrick Coleman, Kendall Gill, Albert King, Kerry Kittles, Chris Morris and Mike O'Koren (NEWSDAY.com, 4/17).

The Bergen RECORD's Brennan & Vasquez wrote, "To be sure, there are loyal Nets fans, people who mourn their departure. There just never have been enough of them." The "struggle to gain a healthy fan base has been a constant for the Nets during the team's entire tenure in New Jersey" (Bergen RECORD, 4/22).
