City Of Sacramento, NBA Kings Reach Framework Of Arena Deal

The City of Sacramento and the NBA Kings "have reached the framework of a deal to build an arena and keep the Kings in Sacramento." Team co-Owner George Maloof today said his family would contribute "close to $75 million upfront, probably another $75 million over the term of the agreement." Maloof said that the $75M in "additional payments, to be made over the course of the deal, will come partially from surcharges on arena tickets." He added that the team "has made a long-term commitment to Sacramento" (SACBEE.com, 2/27).
