Goodell Discusses NFL's Breast Cancer Initiatives On ABC's "GMA"

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell appeared live in-studio on ABC’s “GMA” this morning to promote the NFL’s breast cancer awareness initiative, with players wearing pink shoes, sweatbands and towels, among other items. Goodell said the initiative is to make a “difference for millions of people that are afflicted with breast cancer and their families.” Goodell: “We have a stage and we have an opportunity to make a difference and we want to take advantage of that.”

ABC’s Josh Elliott said the initiative has “been very forward-thinking on the part of the league. What is the response of the players in the locker rooms?” Goodell: “They're loving it. Everybody is affected by this disease, whether it's your wife, your mother, your sister, everybody's impacted by this disease. They have a chance to go out and talk about that and they have a chance to show their support for people who are impacted by this” (“GMA,” ABC, 10/19).
