Tiger Woods Will Wear Prototype Nike Golf Shoe In Bridgestone

Tiger Woods will wear a "prototype golf shoe inspired by the FREE technology that Nike recently introduced" when he returns to pro golf this week in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Woods said that he uses the FREE technology in his training shoes "and that led to him asking" Nike Design Dir Tobie Hatfield to "design a golf shoe that would work on the course." CBSSPORTS.com's Will Brinson writes the shoe "looks different than any golf shoe I've ever seen a professional golfer wear" (CBSSPORTS.com, 8/2).

Woods said of the shoe, "It was nice to try and get something that I felt comfortable in. The FREE technology is something that I wear every day and some of the things, some of the aspects, I love training in it, love running in it, lifting in it. So why can't I play golf in it?" (Golf Channel, 8/2).
