Some NFL Players Show Up At Team Facilities, Cannot Work Out

In the wake of U.S. District Judge Susan Nelson granting an injunction to halt the NFL lockout, "small groups of players showed up at team facilities" today. They were "let inside but told they would not be allowed to work out," and "most left in a matter of minutes." The league had issued a statement that called for players to be "treated with courtesy and respect" if they showed up. But the NFL said it needs "a few days to sort this out" before football activities can take place (ESPN.com, 4/26).

Three players showed up at the Bears' Halas Hall today, and then DT Anthony Adams and OT J'Marcus Webb "arrived for the annual Piccolo Awards ceremony, an event planned well in advance" (CHICAGOBREAKINGSPORTS.com, 4/26). Ravens CB Fabian Washington said that the majority of the team's players are "spread out across the country and he hasn't heard of any players planning to report to work" (NATIONALFOOTBALLPOST.com, 4/26).
