Easter Sunday Overnights: ABC’s Celtics-Knicks Finale Earns 5.0 Rating

ABC led all Easter Sunday sports telecasts with a 5.0 overnight Nielsen rating for the Celtics’ series-clinching Game Four of their First Round playoff series against the Knicks in the late window, up 9% from a 4.6 overnight for Game Four of the Cavaliers-Bulls series last year. In the early window, the net earned a 4.0 overnight for Heat-76ers Game Four, up 29% from Celtics-Heat Game Four last year.

Yesterday’s final round of The Heritage PGA Tour event on CBS earned a 2.0 overnight for Brandt Snedeker’s playoff win over Luke Donald. That rating is down slightly from a 2.1 overnight for last year’s final round, which saw Jim Furyk defeat Brian Davis in a playoff. NBC yesterday earned a 1.6 overnight for its coverage of Game Six of the Flyers-Sabres Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, up 23% from a 1.3 overnight for the comparable Red Wings-Coyotes Game Six last year.
