Clay Matthews Inks One-Year Deal To Endorse Unilever's Suave Brand

Packers LB Clay Matthews has signed on to endorse Unilever's Suave shampoo brand. Athlete's First agent Ryan Williams, who reps Matthews for marketing, said that the pact is a "one-year deal that includes media appearances pre- and post-Super Bowl and a production day" for potential advertising footage. Terms were not disclosed. Sources said that Procter & Gamble's Head & Shoulders brand was "not interested in Matthews" (CNBC.com, 1/26).

Meanwhile, Unequal Technologies CEO Rob Vito discussed signing Eagles QB Michael Vick to an endorsement deal that includes billboards and Twitter activation. Vito: "They came to us requesting this equipment, and then the endorsement came out of that as a natural byproduct" ("Fast Forward With Lisa Murphy," Bloomberg TV, 1/26).
