'In The Know' with Drive Shack's Kyle Rickman

Drive Shack
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, golf has seen a huge increase in business, which includes golf entertainment venues like Puttery, which just opened its 10th location, a flagship five-story location in New York City’s Meatpacking District.
Drive Shack
Kyle Rickman, president and COO of Drive Shack, the parent company of Puttery, said the locations are about more than just the miniature golf courses they offer, but instead about the experience guests get through curated food and beverage as the company brings golf entertainment into the heart of the city.

“Drive Shacks [driving ranges] are 60,000 square feet facilities, too big to fit in the middle of a city,” Rickman said. “But we still wanted to take our experience and create something really unique in more of an urban area.”

Beyond opening its largest location to date, Puttery was featured recently during an episode of Netflix’s “Full Swing” series when Rory McIlroy—who is one of the company’s original investors—was at the Charlotte location during last season’s Wells Fargo Championship.

For this segment of SBJ’s new occasional feature “In The Know,” we asked Rickman to highlight his go-to sites for news, information and entertainment.
