In Baltimore, Andy Kostka noted Baltimore-based craft brewery Checkerspot Brewing Company is unveiling "two new beers for Orioles fans to enjoy" on Opening Day, March 28. One is the Birdland Pale Ale, described as a “tart pale ale with mangoes” and the other is named “Adios Angelos.” Described as a “Mexican Lager with lime, agave and salt,” the Adios Angelos “bids adieu to the majority ownership of the Angelos family,” who are in the process of selling a majority stake of the franchise to a group led by expected owner David Rubenstein. The Angelos family purchased the team as part of a group in 1993 (BALTIMORE BANNER, 3/20). 

FINANCIAL PLANNING: TENNIS reported American tennis player Chris Eubanks has inked a sponsorship deal with software analytics firm FICO in “hopes of building Americans' financial literacy.” As a part of the launch of the partnership, Eubanks visited with students at Miami Beach Nautilus Middle School on March 19 to “share credit and financial education basics in hopes of inspiring a lifelong enthusiasm for financial literacy.” Eubanks will also be a keynote speaker at FICO World next month, the company's annual conference, and debut a new patch on his match clothes this week during the Miami Open (TENNIS, 3/20).

GRAND SLAM PARTNER: Motorola has reached a new, grand-slam jersey patch partnership with the No. 1-ranked American men's tennis player Taylor Fritz. Beginning with this week's Miami Open, Fritz will sport the Motorola “batwing” logo on the right sleeve of his shirt and warmup jacket for all practices and matches. Over the course of the multiyear partnership, Fritz will also support Motorola through ongoing brand activities and campaigns (Motorola).
