Blue Jays unveil new 'To The Core' slogan as season opener nears

The Blue Jays yesterday unveiled their “new rallying catch phrase -- To The Core -- replacing the Next Level signatures of the past couple of seasons," according to Rob Longley of the TORONTO SUN. With the Blue Jays' April 8 home opener less than a month away, the “push has begun” to "sell tickets (many of them higher priced) for games at the renovated Rogers Centre." The video used to launch the new branding features several Jays players with 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and SS Bo Bichette "prominent among them" and P Jordan Romano with a Canadian flag draped over his shoulder (TORONTO SUN, 3/11). In Toronto, Mark Colley noted other hashtags used over the years by the Blue Jays included #WeAreBlueJays, #LetsRise, #OurMoment and #ComeTogether. With #ToTheCore, the Blue Jays are "once again incorporating 'T.O.' into the slogan." They last did so in 2015, was when they finished two wins shy of the World Series (TORONTO STAR, 3/11).
