PGA Tour Enterprises unveils 13-member board

PGA Tour Enterprises unveiled yesterday its 13-member BOD, which will feature Tiger Woods and PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan, among others. PGA Tour Enterprises, the new for-profit venture formed in conjunction with Strategic Sports Group, will house the PGA Tour’s commercial businesses and rights, as well as those of the DP World Tour. The tour "will receive nine board seats," with SSG representatives "filling out the other four positions." Six of the nine tour spots were given to the tour’s existing player directors in Woods, Patrick Cantlay, Peter Malnati, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson and Jordan Spieth. Monahan, former PGA Tour player Joe Ogilvie and policy board independent director Joe Gorder "round out the tour’s final positions." The four SSG spots will be filled by Fenway Sports Group principal owner John Henry, Falcons owner Arthur Blank, Mets Vice Chair Andrew Cohen and Fenway Sports Group CEO Sam Kennedy (GOLF DIGEST, 3/6).

Monahan will serve as the CEO of PGA Tour Enterprises, and Woods will serve as the Vice Chair of the Board. This BOD "will lead all commercial activities related to the PGA Tour" and will "focus on driving fan engagement and growth, as well as developing new media, sponsorship and commercial opportunities." The BOD "will elect a chairman at an upcoming meeting" (GOLFWEEK, 3/6).
