Inside The Famous Group's NBA All-Star weekend activations

The Famous Group activated multiple times across NBA All-Star weekend in Indianapolis, deploying its Vixi Suite of in-venue selfie tech for events hosted at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and Lucas Oil Stadium, then producing a mixed reality animation on TNT in partnership with global media agency Initiative and Carnival Cruise Line.

This is the third consecutive All-Star Game that has featured Vixi Live, which broadcasts fan-created selfie videos on venue video boards. The company also produced AI-generated portraits for video board display using Vixi Capture, a tool within the Vixi Suite that The Famous Group debuted at a Vikings preseason game last fall.

The mixed-reality Carnival Cruise Line animation, which was displayed at the end of the first quarter, previously appeared on the Fox broadcast of the NFC Championship Game at Levi’s Stadium in January. Ahead of the All-Star Game, The Famous Group retrofitted the asset for an NBA basketball court using different tracked camera angles, then embedded within TNT’s broadcast compound for live production.

The Famous Group is a former honoree on SBJ's 10 Most Innovative Sports Tech Companies list. The new class, which includes Infinite Athlete and Peak AI, will be honored on March 5 at an awards ceremony in New York City as part of the kickoff to SBJ Tech Week.
