Northwestern eyes Chicago pro sports venues to host football team

Northwestern is looking into playing its home games this upcoming football season “at a combination of venues that would include Soldier Field, Wrigley Field and Guaranteed Rate Field,” according to sources cited by CRAIN’S CHICAGO BUSINESS. Sources said that all three options “pose unique scheduling issues,” which is why NU is looking to “play games across multiple venues as opposed to just one.” Additional venues will also be considered. NU must wait until the NFL schedule is released in early May “before anything can get finalized.” NU will be without its home field “for at least two full seasons while the new Ryan Field is under construction,” but currently is only focused on the 2024 season (CRAIN'S CHICAGO BUSINESS, 2/8).
