AEG reaches major sponsorship deals for new arenas in Japan, Bangkok

IG ArenaAEG

AEG has announced naming-rights deals for an under-construction arena in Nagoya, Japan, and founding partnership deals for a new venue in Bangkok. AEG Global Partnerships brokered all three deals. In Nagoya, AEG GP helped arrange a deal between online trading and investments firm IG Group and Aichi Int'l Arena Company to name the 17,000-seat venue IG Arena. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the 10-year agreement is one of the largest naming-rights deals in Japan and the broader Asia Pacific region. AEG is part of the arena’s ownership group.

The five-story IG Arena, designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates and set to open in 2025, will contain a "hybrid oval" bowl that combines the features of both an oval and horseshoe bowl style, enabling it to host multiple types of sports and music events. The arena will be the site of the 2026 Asian Games and Asian Para Games, which will be co-hosted by Nagoya and the Aichi Prefecture.

In Bangkok, AEG GP arranged strategic multi-year deals between UOB Live, a new 6,000-capacity live entertainment venue, and Bacardi and Volvo Car Thailand to become the venue’s first two founding partners. Bacardi and Volvo will both have a large-scale brand presence and partnership activations across the venue, which is located on the sixth floor of the EmSphere shopping mall, including custom signage and exposure on the venue’s digital displays and social media platforms. UOB Live, which will primarily host live entertainment and is being operated by ASM Global, opens Sunday with an Ed Sheeran concert.
