NFL partners with Usher on merchandise around Super Bowl halftime show

NFL

The NFL has partnered with Usher on an exclusive collection of co-designed merchandise for fans ahead of his performance in the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 11.

The merchandise includes Mitchell & Ness jerseys, hoodies, jackets, T-shirts and Riddell helmets. The collection also includes a New Era collaboration with clothing brand Just Don.

Immediately following the NFL’s announcement of Usher as headliner, a league spokesperson in an email said discussions “began naturally with key stakeholders on how we could extend this iconic moment into something that fans can take home and have for the Super Bowl and beyond.”

NFL Licensing Dir Xaimara Coss said Usher specifically was “very involved in the designs and worked collaboratively with the NFL’s licensees, Mitchell & Ness, New Era, Riddell and Wilson Sporting Goods, to create a cohesive line of merchandise.”

Coss said ultimately it was a “joint effort between the NFL and Usher’s team to move the conversation forward leading to the idea of a merchandise collection, where the NFL then connected Usher’s team with the four licensees to produce the product.”

The collection pays homage to Usher’s longstanding music career and the celebration that is the Super Bowl, with nods to his style with pieces featuring the iconic “U” emblem inspired by Usher’s famous diamond-studded “U” necklace.

Starting on Feb. 7, fans can purchase the Usher Super Bowl LVIII Collection onsite in Las Vegas at the Super Bowl Experience as well as online at NFLshop.com/USHER, NewEra.com, Mitchellandness.com and Wilson.com.
