Vice President KAMALA HARRIS is planning to attend the Celebration Bowl on Saturday between Howard Univ. and Florida A&M Univ. at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Harris, a 1986 graduate of Howard, is marketing Saturday’s visit as a “way to champion HBCUs.” During the game, Harris will sit down for an interview with announcers TIFFANY GREENE, a FAMU alum, and JAY “SKY” WALKER, who went to Howard. U.S. Sen. RAPHAEL WARNOCK also plans to attend (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 12/14).

LAW AND ORDER: SoFi Stadium worker ROBERT LEAHEY has filed a lawsuit claiming that the negligence of the Rams and the company that supplied security guards caused him to suffer brain injuries during a violent brawl between fans at a December game in 2022 against the Raiders. APEX Security Group is listed as a defendant along with the Rams and two companies that “owned, controlled, operated and/or maintained SoFi Stadium.” According to the suit, the 71-year-old employee was helping with crowd control at the stadium during the brawl and attempted to “assist by making notes of those responsible for the fight,” but APEX security guards rushing to the scene “pushed Mr. Leahey out of their way." The suit alleges that Leahey “fell down the stairs” and “hit his head on the concrete ‘several times’” (L.A. TIMES, 12/14).
