Tigers tap Daktronics to build second largest videoboard in baseball for 2024

Daktronics is building the second largest video display in baseball for the Tigers, and it’ll be ready in time for the 2024 season. The display will sit above Comerica Park's left field seating areas and include 15,000 square feet of digital canvas and 14.1 million pixels. It’ll replace an existing display in that spot and feature 10-millimeter pixel spacing to provide wide angle visibility.

The main display is part of a broader project (16,900 square feet of LED in total) that will see five additional displays installed along the fascia, dugout, and line score locations. Two ribbon displays measuring 3.5 feet high by 75 feet wide will be installed along the first and third baselines, and will be joined by long, narrow displays along the front edge of each dugout roof, measuring a half-foot tall and 92.5 feet wide.

Daktronics has video displays in more than half of all pro sports venues in the U.S. and Canada, including many baseball stadiums. Earlier this year, the South Dakota-based company put in major new videoboards at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, and Target Field in Minneapolis for the 2023 season.
