Audience Analysis: Army-Navy rises; SVP carries ‘SportsCenter’ gains

Army-Navy delivered 7.2 million viewers on Saturday afternoon, a figure that is up 3% from last year’s game, but down 5% from two years ago. Army-Navy finishes as the No. 21 game in terms of viewership for the college football season, just behind Alabama-Texas A&M (7.23 million) and just ahead of the first Oregon-Washington matchup (7.04 million).

Scott Van Pelt continues to have the best-performing “SportsCenter” window on ESPN, with his midnight ET edition averaging 719,000 viewers in November (that is up 1% from the same period in 2022). The No. 2 “SC” window is 1am with 644,000 (+34% year-over-year). Overall, “SC” in November was up 7%.

Netflix did its first dump of streaming data, dishing out global figures for shows from January through June this year. The best sports show was Season 5 of “Drive to Survive,” with the F1 series having 92.3 million hours watched over that six-month period. That was No. 115 among all shows globally. No. 2 among sports was Season 1 of “Full Swing,” with the PGA Tour-backed series No. 268 globally with 53.1 million hours watched.
