Mets bring in Bloomberg Media CEO Scott Havens as President of Business Operations

Bloomberg Media CEO M. Scott Havens will depart the company to “become president of business operations” for the Mets, according to Alex Weprin of the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Havens “will start in January, overseeing all leadership functions except for baseball operations" and “will report to" Mets owner Steve Cohen. Haven was elevated to the CEO role at Bloomberg Media in January 2022 (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 11/27). In N.Y., Greg Joyce writes over a year after former team President Sandy Alderson transitioned to an advisory role, the process of finding a new President of Business Operations is “finally complete,” with Havens set to “officially join the organization in January." Haven’s hire comes after "waiting out" David Stearns being hired as the team's President of Baseball Operations. After Cohen bought the Mets in November 2020, he brought back Alderson to “serve as the club president,” but by September 2022, the Mets announced that Alderson would step down as president and “transition to an advisory role as the team began its search for his successor” (N.Y. POST, 11/27).
