Steve Payne’s career started in journalism before he pivoted into telecommunications. He worked at Tandberg Television in 2006 when it was acquired by Ericsson Media Solutions, which became MediaKind in 2018. Through the company’s work with Microsoft, MediaKind helped establish the cloud infrastructure for the NBA to enhance the League Pass app for viewers around the world. This gave MediaKind traction in the sports and entertainment space, Payne said, allowing for more relationships to bloom between MediaKind and teams, leagues, broadcasters and operators throughout North America and internationally. — E.J.
